Cardiff YMCA 1910 Trust
Tonight were excited to welcome Mr John Littlechild, MBE, JP and a trustee of the Cardiff YMCA 1910 Trust Fund. He came to present the 22nd Cardiff Scouts with a cheque for £2,000. This is towards our fundraising project for a new disabled toilet / wet room and unisex toilets.
What is the money for ?
As you are aware it has come to the point that we desperately need to upgrade our toilets. The men’s toilets into unisex toilets and the current female toilet into a disabled walk in toilet / wet room with folding baby changing facilities.
Who will Benefit?
Our 22nd Cardiff Scout Hall is the home of our Scout group which has 130+ members. A variety of local community clubs in the Cardiff, Roath and surrounding areas benefit from using the hall as their base. These include Baby Sensory classes, Tai Chi, Taekwondo, Yoga, Cookery parties, explorers, an arts & craft group and overnight stays from other scout groups along with student / sports groups etc.
What is the YMCA 1910 Trust?
The YMCA 1910 Trust Fund is set up to provide financial assistance for; prevention or relief of poverty, accommodation/housing, children/young people, to provide human resources, education and training. They help to provide improvements to buildings/facilities/open space or to provide services for general charitable purposes for the people and communities in the Welsh Capital.
So, it was with real great pleasure that Mr John Littlechild, a trustee of the YMCA 1910 Trust, came in person to deliver the grant cheque. He presented it to one of our young scouts at their weekly meetings. It received a big round of applause as we are now a step closer in our fundraising efforts.
We are very grateful to the YMCA 1910 Trust for their donation of £2,000. In addition we would also like to thank Green Willows Funerals. Their profits go into helping support the YMCA 1910 Trust fund. Without the generosity of their financial support, the support of our executive team and all the voluntary scouting leaders we would struggle to raise funds. Our fundraising is to ensure our inner city hall is fit for purpose. Not just for our local scouts, young people but for all our community hall users.
